October 2nd is Mahatma Gandhi's 150th Birthday. Born in 1869 in Porbandar, Gandhiji united our Indian nation to fight peacefully against the British rule using non-violent means, giving India its Independence in 1947.
The Mahatma's philosophy of Ahimsa was followed across the world, including here in the United States by Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., to fight against social injustice. As the Father of the Nation, Gandhiji's birthday is observed as the International Day of Non-Violence by the United Nations since 2007.
The India Association of North Texas, in partnership with CGI Houston and MGMNT, invites you to join our Virtual Celebration of the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
