The India Association of North Texas (IANT) proudly presents Community Connect, a day‑long celebration dedicated to strengthening the bonds that hold our vibrant North Texas community together. This signature gathering brings under one roof over 150 nonprofit organizations, small business owners, cultural groups, youth leaders, elected officials, and families who contribute to the social, cultural, and civic fabric of our region.

At its heart, Community Connect is about people — the organizations that serve, the leaders who inspire, the youth who represent our future, and the families who bring life to every event. This is a day to meet, collaborate, learn, celebrate, and build lasting partnerships that uplift our entire community.

1. A Grand Gathering of Community Organizations

Community Connect is one of the largest platforms in North Texas for nonprofits and community groups to come together. With 150+ nonprofit organizations participating, this event showcases the incredible diversity of service, culture, and leadership that thrives in our region.

Organizations will have the opportunity to:

• Connect with city officials, ISD representatives, and community influencers

2. Vendor Booths - Invitation to Small Business Owners & Nonprofits

IANT warmly invites all small business owners, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit leaders to be part of this powerful community platform. Whether you represent a cultural group, a service organization, a startup, or a local business, Community Connect offers unmatched visibility and engagement.

Participants can:

• Showcase products and services
• Build partnerships with community groups

3. A Festival‑Style Mela Experience

The event brings the joyful spirit of an Indian mela to North Texas — colorful, energetic, and full of life. Families can enjoy a full day of activities, entertainment, and cultural experiences, including:

• Bounce Houses for kids
• Face Painting and Art Stations
• Painting Competitions for children and youth - TBD
• Cooking Competitions celebrating culinary creativity - TBD
• Food Vendors offering authentic Indian cuisine
• Local businesses showcasing products and services

The mela environment ensures that every age group finds something to enjoy, making this a true family celebration.

4. Community Sports: Volleyball Tournament – Registration Required.

Sports bring people together, and the Community Volleyball Tournament is one of the highlights of the day. Teams from various organizations compete in a friendly yet spirited environment, promoting teamwork, fitness, and camaraderie.

This tournament reflects the essence of Community Connect — healthy competition, unity, and shared joy.

5. Youth Empowerment: Public Speaking Training for High School Students - TBD

IANT is committed to nurturing the next generation of leaders. As part of Community Connect, high school students will have access to public speaking and leadership training, helping them build confidence, communication skills, and stage presence.

This initiative empowers youth to:

Community Connect marks the official kickoff for Anand Bazaar, IANT’s iconic Independence Day celebration held annually since 1962. Attendees will get a preview of:

• Community participation
• Special guests and dignitaries

Anand Bazaar is one of the largest Indian Independence Day celebrations in the U.S., and Community Connect sets the stage for this grand tradition.
